Aaron Philip receives full scholarship from Michigan State University – Los Alamos Reporter

Aaron Philip, a 2022 Los Alamos High School graduate, received a full scholarship to attend Michigan State University (MSU) starting this fall, where he plans to major in physics at the College of Natural Science.

Philip was selected from over 1,300 top high school students who applied for
MSU, participated in interviews and passed an intensive general knowledge exam the latter
Winter.

A total of 21 incoming MSU students have been awarded Alumni Achievement Scholarships
or a Distinguished University Scholarship which will cover full tuition, room and board, and a
stipend for a maximum of eight semesters of study.

The scholarships – considered among the most competitive awards in the country – are
worth approximately $130,000 for in-state students and approximately $230,000 for out-of-state students
students.

“We are delighted to welcome this year’s cohort of distinguished alumni and universities
Academics as they begin their journey at MSU,” said Chris Long, Dean of MSU Honors College.
“These young researchers have already demonstrated the highest level of excellence in one of the
the toughest scholarship competitions in the country. We look forward to supporting
their continued success as they join the MSU Honors College community in our efforts to
empowering all of our students to make a meaningful difference in the world.
